While many exemplary organizations exist to help seniors, ComPETnionship focuses primarily in assisting low income senior pet owners so that they may never have the need to make the difficult choice between themselves or their companions. Especially during the COVID-19 pandemic, it has become ever more dangerous for seniors to interact, even with family. Their pets have become critical to their daily companionship and essential to their well being. ComPETnionship empowers our senior citizens to provide for their furry friends on their own terms with their specific requests. We provide essential items and personalized requests for each senior’s pet. In addition, many of our senior citizens suffer from isolation and do not receive much attention. For this reason, we include a personal, handwritten card for each resident we assist.
